Tibet

Tibet lies just north of Nepal across the Himalaya: a high plateau of monasteries, turquoise lakes and the north face of Everest. Most trips start with a flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa or a drive across the Kerung border.

Tibet is best from Apr to Oct; Kailash only from May to Sep. Lhasa is at 3,650 m and most routes cross passes above 5,000 m, so we build in acclimatisation days.
