Your first 8,000 m summit on the world’s eighth-highest mountain
Overview
Manaslu is often chosen as a first 8,000 m peak. The normal route is mainly snow and glacier, with fixed ropes through crevassed sections and supplemental oxygen from Camp 3.
Drive to Machha Khola and trek up the Budhi Gandaki gorge through Jagat, Deng, Namrung and Lho to Samagaun, with a rest day there. Base camp sits at 4,800 m. The climb uses Camp 1 (5,700 m), Camp 2 (6,400 m), Camp 3 (6,800 m) and Camp 4 (7,450 m). Trek back down the valley and drive to Kathmandu.
Climbers with at least one 6,000–7,000 m peak, solid crampon and fixed-rope skills, and the fitness for a month at altitude.
Why book with us: A 1:1 climbing Sherpa on summit day, a Spanish-speaking guide on the approach, and an approach trek that builds acclimatisation before base camp.
Remote, very high terrain. For fit and experienced trekkers.
