Rolwaling Region

A hidden Sherpa valley and a glacier pass into the Khumbu

Home Treks Rolwaling Region

Rolwaling is a narrow valley between Langtang and Everest, below Gauri Shankar (7,134 m). Few trekkers come here; villages like Beding are small Sherpa settlements. The trek starts with a long drive east from Kathmandu.

Go in Apr–May or Oct–Nov. The valley leads to Tsho Rolpa glacier lake (4,580 m) and the Tashi Lapcha pass (5,755 m), which needs ropes and crampons.

It suits experienced trekkers with some glacier or mountaineering experience. Treks here: Rolwaling Valley and Tashi Lapcha Pass Trek (coming in batch 2).
